EPS Bead Receipt and Storage

The raw material used to manufacture expanded polysturene (EPS) is received in the form of resin beads containing a small percentage of the naturally occurring gas pentane.

Beads are received in bags from suppliers. After quality control checks they are stored in large canvas hoppers where some of the pentane is released.

Beads are next transferred to the preexpansion equipment.
