CUSTOMER BULLETINDyplast Launches its DyTherm™ Phenolic insulation and DyPerm™ Vapor BarriersMIAMI - (July 8, 2010) –Dyplast Products announces that it has officially launched a new set of insulation system products that make a leap forward in thermal performance of mid to low temperature piping applications while achieving 25/50 E84 standards. DyTherm Phenolic is a rigid foam insulation based on patented technology and is manufactured under a certified ISO-9001 quality program. While reflecting the some of the benefits of polyisocyanurate insulation, DyTherm Phenolic insulation additionally has superior flame and smoke properties, achieving 20/30 flame spread/smoke developed indices per ASTM E-84 (2.3 lb/ft3 density at 2 inch thick). DyTherm Phenolic insulation also has extraordinary thermal efficiency with an initial K-factor of 0.145 Btu·in/hr·ft²·°F), equating to an R-value of almost 7. DyPerm Wrap vapor barrier sheeting is a three-ply laminate vapor barrier constructed of a 1 mil aluminum foil with 0.5 mil polyester film on both sides. DyPerm Wrap is recommended in chill water and cryogenic applications as part of Dyplast’s insulation system using the ISO-C1 or Phenolic family of insulation. DyPerm Wrap has a 0.00 perm water vapor transmission per ASTM E96, and has excellent handling and puncture resistance characteristics. DyPerm Tape is a zero-perm 3-ply vapor barrier tape used to secure DyPerm Wrap seams and can be factory or field applied, although Dyplast generally recommends factory application. DyPerm Tape is made with 1 mil aluminum foil and a 0.5 mil polyester film on both sides. The tape is coated with a cold weather solvent acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive system which combines superior quick stick at normal temperatures and superior low temperature performance below freezing.
